Dinette — Wroclaw, Poland

Wroclaw-based firm Buck Studio has created a striking design for new bar and bistro Dinette, located in the city's Old Town district. Favouring a lightness of touch and clean, rigorous lines, the architecture studio has elegantly outfitted the space with a svelte palette of materials including black marble and blonde wood, with a dramatic backdrop of malachite green glass adorning the wall behind the main bar. The bar itself has been painstakingly crafted from thousands of individual circular wooden slats crowned with black marble, while the tall, black-topped FINN bar stools were crafted by local manufacturer Fameg specifically for the restaurant.

The bistro, on the ground floor of a former department store, was created for the city’s chic residents with a menu emphasising leisurely breakfasts as well as gutsy seasonal dishes expedited from the restaurant’s open kitchen. While the brunch menu lists usual suspects like peppy shakshukas, hearty English breakfasts and pancakes, we’re partial to the bar menu that offers bite size portions of oysters, foie and chicken hearts on toast to nibble alongside the short but sweet cocktail and wine list.
