With New Zealand's Southern Alps as a backdrop and breathtaking views of the 80km-long Lake Wakatipu, Aro Hä is a wellness retreat that lies 40 minutes from the resort of Queenstown on South Island. Comprising a series of timber structures, designed by Wellington-based firm Tennent + Brown Architects, the bolt-hole features a sustainable management system that allows the efficient conversion of sunlight and water into energy. Aro Hä has space for just 32 guests and offers an all-inclusive programme that incorporates activities such as vinyasa yoga, sub-alpine hikes, meditation and therapeutic massages. The health-focused menu uses produce grown on site or locally.
