Moreno Hotel, Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires has shaken off the dust of its former polo playing and politician-producing reputation and started afresh. Helped along by iconic young entrepreneurs, new bars, restaurants and boutique hotels are moving in daily, resulting in a thoroughly foodie and fashion-y new vibe in the Argentinean Capital.

Moreno Hotel is one such hotspot.

A vision of old-meets-new design in the heart of the arts district, the 39-roomed art-deco renovation prides itself on providing for a new breed of customer, marketing its spacious ‘lofts’ to everyone from executive power-players to designer shoppers. Rooms are arranged by their square-footage with the largest boasting a boardroom but all epitomise the Moreno’s Euro-Argentinean aesthetic.

Gaucho-inspired soft furnishings such as cowhide cushions and trademark red leather chairs sit side by side with dainty objet d’art. For another dose of Latin luxury you can head up to the rooftop spa, gym and Jacuzzi or down to the 130-seat tango theatre and lounge in the basement, passing the gourmet restaurant on your way. It’s modern Argentina in a nutshell.
