FAb 40: Ristorante Tuna, Rome

Just off the busy Via Veneto, Ristorante Tuna is a welcome addition in a neighbourhood already rich in gastronomic draws. Since its opening in 2008, the fresh produce and clean, all-white modern interior of this seafood restaurant has been pulling in locals and visitors.

The less is more approach is evident in dishes such as raw oysters, sea truffle and spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams) but the freshness and lightness of the offering makes for a pleasant treat (and retreat) after so many heavy Roman lunches and suppers. Do ask for the wine list, which is one of the most carefully selected in the city.
