Tin ceilings, antique light fixtures, mosaic tiling, dark wood paneling with silk inlays, and more or less open doors play more to a Victorian feel than speakeasy but a semi-hidden back room tucked behind heavy curtains, a late-19th-century mahogany bar shipped from an American hardscrabble mining town and cocktails made with precision keep it within the ‘faux speakeasy’ genre, by New York standards.
