Zaha Hadid's curvy Aquatic centre and the cleverly adaptable main Olympic Stadium by Populous and Sir Peter Cook expected to be among the Games’ major architectural attractions; both are currently under intensive construction to get them in shape in time for the opening ceremony.
The nearby Olympic Village is also on the rise, with the more advanced buildings starting to pop up on the East London skyline, eleven residential plots in all. According to government sources, everything is on track and on budget. www.london2012.com
