Ian Schrager has always been an avant-gardist, turning his hotel lobbies into the most happening places. Once again he has found a fresh way and this time it involves stargazing over the roofs of Manhattan.
The private roof terrace is available exclusively to guests of the hotel and selected private members, which will offer a more discreet and intimate setting. You’ll recognise the stamp of Julian Schnabel’s glittering Renaissance with vibrant colors.
The dining area, complete with retractable roof.
Best of all, however, is a massive ceiling light installation that evokes the notion of an extraordinary looking chandelier. Another unique experience is a rare display of 20th-century masterpieces from Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst. The exhibited paintings change periodically so that guests can enjoy and experience art.
The Roof Club and Garden can be accessed via the special, private keyed-off elevator.
