More than five years since finding the perfect location for her dream project, architect Paola Giambelli has finally opened Palazzo Parigi, transforming what used to be the palazzo of the Kramer family into a hotel that celebrates the spirits of Milan and Paris in one. The 98 rooms and suites, designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, come in two styles: 'minimalist, modern Milanese' and 'romantic, imperialistic Parisian'. Pink Baveno marble, intricate woodwork and precious artwork and antiques form part of the carefully crafted interior. Elsewhere in the hotel, the neoclassical restaurant  offers traditional Italian delicacies with a contemporary twist, complemented by some 800 wines. With a view of the garden, Caffé Parigi is perfect for a quick lunch or one of patissier's treats.
