Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 in action

Robert Serek video

When it comes to mobile phone shopping we're loath to settle. With hundreds of sophisticated models on offer and tight competition across the board, it makes sense to expect something truly special, and we think we've found it in one of Sony Ericsson's newest toys, the feature-packed Xperia X1.

But instead of just talking the talk, we're actually putting the device to the test. First, we gave one to each of our London Design Festival correspondents to help them keep in touch and track their adventures via the on-board camera and video recorder. For a look at their insider snaps check out our Design Festival coverage here.

Second, in this month's bumper issue (W*115) we approached four busy creative professionals, including Warsaw-based magazine editor Robert Serek and New York-based Cary Leitzes, founder of ARTCO, and asked them to try out the phone for a week – at work, at home, and at play. For Robert's video verdict click the play button at the top of this page. For Cary's video click here.
