Clearaudio has been applying phenomenal styling to its Teutonic technology for a few years now, with the Reference turntable acting as something of an industry standard. Its latest offering, the Ambient, has astonishing range, allowing you to pick out crisp bass parts from even a Nick Cave album. The Panzerholz base - 70 layers of wood and resin - perfectly sets off the aluminium plates, and it is simplicity itself to use, although it can take a while to set up.
