In the dwindling days before 2008 we thought it appropriate to sit back and take stock of the whirlwind that has been 2007 on wallpaper.com and bring you a round-up of our favourite stories from each month.
While others might batten down the hatches in January, we at Wallpaper* kickstart each year with our annual design awards. 2007 saw them go stellar in scope and scale, firmly lodging the event and issue as a permanent, unmissable fixture on the global design calendar. Later that month, we caught up with Ed Ruscha - our Artist of the Year - and were taken on an exclusive photographic tour of the artist's life.
Design Awards: the winners
What better way to start the year than with a gigantic party celebrating our favourite things across the many disciplines of Wallpaper*, surrounded by our favourite people from the design world? We handed over the task of picking winners for ten special awards to an elite judging panel, themselves a carefully selected and influential group from our favourite people in the industry.
