Unless you’ve been holed up in bed for the last ten days, you won’t fail to have noticed our countdown to the annual Wallpaper* Design Awards. And you’re probably aware that on Wednesday the event itself took place to great effect – winners were revealed, runners-up clapped graciously and a very good time was had by all.
In true Wallpaper* style we’ve gone one step further than simply opening an envelope to reveal the winners. Instead, we’ve teamed-up with digital animators, Mainframe, to produce animations for each winner of the Judges’ Awards. To heighten the suspension a little more, refresh your memories and take a look at the shortlists for each award by clicking on each category on the right.
And of course the Wallpaper* Design Awards aren’t simply about the Judges’ Awards. Whilst we’re thrilled to place the responsibility for a select ten awards in the hands of our esteemed judges, we can’t expect them to devote the time or patience to all 63 of our categories: that is our job. Throughout the year we’ve kept the keenest of eyes on our trawls and travels for those products and projects that go a little bit further than everything else. For a full list of winners in our 2008 Design Awards, see below. To see pictures of each winner, buy the Design Awards 2008 issue of Wallpaper* on newstands around the globe now.
