London Design Festival highlights
New kid on the block, Gallery Fumi has pulled out all the stops for its first festival showing. And many could learn from their slick edit and production. Bringing together a clutch of young, exciting designers who explore different notions of materials, its an exhibition not to be missed. From Max Lambs porous concrete (surprisingly light) and compacted wool (surprisingly heavy) stools, to Studio Glitheros Les French gum paper sideboard on bronze scaffold legs, the calibre of craft in the process of each piece is ingenious. Other pieces we admired were Marcus Tremontos extraordinary mirror-lights and Philippe Malouins rubber and wood chair. http://www.galleryfumi.com
