Paris Autumn/Winter '08
Maison Martin Margiela
Margiela was playing a game of halves, which meant two-tone boysuits with a one shouldered cobweb sheath topping, and cape backed tunics over checkerboard leggings all in fine stretch jersey. Never one for understatement, Margiela played on Parisian chic with giant collared trenches, and chestnut angora sweater dresses with huge fold down necks, hair tucked in just so. The LBD got its outing in the form of clerical collared sleeveless dresses with 'tres sexy' cutaway backs.
