Milan Autumn/Winter '08
Haute
We have long been fans of Architect-Designer Vincenzo de Cotiis. His new furniture line produced by Ceccotti Collection ticks all the right boxes. For his one-off furniture pieces sold in his Milan Gallery (and used in his architectural work) he recycles found furniture, for example a 1940s wardrobe is reassembled into a sideboard. In Haute, the clothing line he established 10 years ago with Cristina Lombardi, he finds, dismantles and reassembles, combining old with new. Vintage parkas, printed silk scarves and even mink coats get taken apart and reassembled so the yokes, sleeves, hem or waist of one piece may end up being cut from different cloth. The pieces are collectible, the brand under the radar and far from normal Milanese fashion.
