London Autumn/Winter '08
Paul Smith
Paul Smiths show was bad-girl-meets-couture, loosely inspired by Juliette Greco who was matey with the French Bohemians. Handsome models walked the ballroom of Claridges to a soundtrack of unheard Serge Gainsbourg mixed with Mark Almond.
Sir Paul told Wallpaper* he wanted to lift it up a notch referring to bringing his womenswear out of the shadows of his menswear. With a gaggle of recently opened stores in locations like St Petersburg, Istanbul, Capetown and Pariss famed Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, he felt (and we can only agree) a stronger collection was required.
