New York Autumn/Winter 2008
Lacoste
Creative Director Christophe Lemaire took Lacoste off the tennis court and up to the slopes of Megève, a resort that in the 1920s was an upscale alternative to St Moritz. On a runway carpeted with sheepskin, he opened the show with chalet chic knits in winter whites mixed with heather greys finished with great hiking boots.
Lemaire then swapped the mountains of France for the hills of Jamaica borrowing the colours of the Caribbean islands flags for college stripes (Lacoste already has that preppy thing going).
For the finale the show turned into a bit of an après-ski party, when accessories such as fun earmuffs and brightly coloured padded moon boots, came out to play.
