New York Autumn/Winter 2008
DKNY
A break from the norm for a line that can normally be relied on for its sleek take on urban sportswear - Donna Karan sent her models out in a riot of colour and texture that was almost Biba-esque in silhouette (short) and style (1960s). We cant say she didnt warn us, the show notes did promise Eclectic Glamour after all, and the lurex jacquard, brocade, corduroy and cashmere in glorious jewelled reds, ambers, purples and golds were certainly that. Our favourites? The babydoll in traffic-stopping red, the chunky knits and the sporty side of the DKNY man.
