Miuccia Prada’s starting point was specially engineered cloth, including degraded jacquard cloqué, long-piled mohair ‘plated’ with laminate, and shaggy mohair masquerading as fur. Blurring gender rules, she worked feminine haute couture elements into the menswear and, for women, created shapes that were strict and mannish at the front, feminine at the back.
