Sinha-Stanic
While many of their contemporaries chose to work in delicate pastels this season, Sinha-Stanic packed a punch with garments predominantly rendered in kingfisher colours like cyan, orange, white and metallic pink. The collection combined masculine tailoring with ethereal silhouettes and ethereal embellishments, like feather and leather appliqué, and El Anatsui-esque embroidery.
Working in taffeta, mousseline and silk, the designers incorporated paper-like folds, tucks and pleats in structured coats and asymmetric dresses, giving them a diaphanous, yet textural quality. The origami motif was further enhanced by the duos juxtaposition of colours and fabrics, particularly successful in a grey and gold mesh bolero, paired with skinny silk trousers.
