Palate cleanser: organic juice brand Nectar opens flagship Vancouver store
With juice bars springing up left, right and centre at the moment, it's hard to distinguish between the real deal and people who are just jumping on the detox bandwagon. Vancouver-based Nectar Juicery is taking a refreshingly realistic, design-centric approach to organic juicing, which is helping to set it apart from the rest. Its focus is less on weight loss, more on channelling a balanced, healthy regime that will work alongside a busy schedule.
Led by local entrepreneurial/holistic nutritionist and bestselling author Tori Holmes, they suggest taking the same approach to your body as you do with your home, timing cleanses depending on whether you are an habitual neat freak or the annual spring clean type.
Holmes' recent focus has been the launch of the health brand's first flagship store, which just opened on West Hastings Street, Vancouver. The minimalist, Scandifornia-themed interior is the work of Kelly Deck Design, with industrial lighting from Matthew McCormick and minimalist millwork from Lock & Mortice.
Aside from Nectar's flagship store, the brand has developed its own juice on tap concept, which is available in cafes and restaurants across the Lower Mainland. Having also gained fans in the form of several high profile corporates, including Hootsuite and Mobify, it seems as though Holmes is on a one-woman mission to take over Vancouver's health food and drink scene.
