Taking this year’s trend of blurring the boundary between outdoor and indoor furniture to its climax is New York designer John Houshmand. A craftsman of the highest order, Houshmand was initially at Yale before coming to New York where he began his career as a designer and maker of furniture.
His organic, material-led style has already won him many private clients in the US, as well as commissions to furnish the New York Nobu 57 and a current project with the anticipated Greenwich Hotel. This 'White Brick Club Chair' is part of Houshmand's recently launched third collection ‘Treacherous Beauties’, and would look sensational in any urban garden. For long summer evenings though, we would recommend a little cushion.
