'Me and assistant designer Chloe Constantinibi in the studio, where we sample all our prints'
Local view: UK by fashion designer, Mark Eley Mark Eley is one half of the brilliant double act that is Eley Kishimoto. He founded the brand with Wakako Kishimoto in 1992, and though they started it as a print design business - collaborating with the likes of Alexander McQueen, Jil Sander and Marc Jacobs - they produced their first fashion collection in the mid 90s and today Eley Kishimoto has become something of a cult label, with its instantly recognisable, bold, graphic signature. But the pair refer to themselves humbly as 'surface decorators', and their designs now adorn everything from motorcycles to computers. Eley Kishimoto's studio is based in a former jam factory in Brixton, next door to Brixton prison. Here Eley shows us around.
