The landmark Ames Building was constructed in 1889 as Boston’s first skyscraper and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A multimillion dollar redesign by the Rockwell Group and Morgans Hotel Group has united old-world aesthetics and contemporary luxury. Korres products are used in bathrooms, while there are flat-screen televisions and down bedding in the bedrooms.

There are two bars, one on each of the restaurant’s two floors, specialising in both classic and new cocktails. There is a communal table and, for those who would rather dine in, 24-hour room service.
