Pringle of Scotland, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Pringle of Scotland
Developing on themes first introduced last summer, Claire Waight Keller worked ruffle appliqués to add extra dimension to her now signature voluminous shape. Her dresses are all about managed volumes. This time she developed a new short bubble skirt and a new engineered short pant, using clever pleating and seaming that was either diagonal or elliptical.
Knits were either chunky, like reworked traditional Aran lightened up with constant directional changes in the stitches, or super light in gauzy cotton crepe yarn and panelled together and inserted with ribbons. Everything was off register and irregular yet executed with precision.
