Marni, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Marni
Marni, normally at the forefront of fabric research and development, concentrated on colour and pattern by reworking traditional polka dots, checks, stripes, harlequins and argyle into abstract pop-like designs in acid and neon shades.

Overscale dots were worked into modern lace, checks were abstracted, harlequin and argyle were worked into transparent cellulose-like techno fabric, and even flowers were translated by repetition into checks. All this was then mixed up and colour-block layered, creating extraordinary contrasts of scale, pattern, texture and colour, with solid and transparent and heavy and light combined in spectacular ways.
