Giorgio Armani, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani is best when his DNA runs through his entire show like it did at this one. Lightness, fluidity and movement achieved through fabrication and cut was pure old school Armani, enhanced further by his palette of greige and pretty pastels.
He owns the jacket and offered plenty of options from the clean navy blazer that opened the show through to the novel, like a pair of raw cut glove jackets in paper light alligator and python, with fine pleated peplums. Flowers bloomed both on the runway set, shaped like a 3-D lotus, and in cutting, with hems of jackets and evening gowns cut like petals.
