Missoni, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Missoni
Although the Missoni story began with knits, they are now just as strong in print, and despite quite a shift in the ratio of the two (much more print) this collection felt pure Missoni.
Tunics and caftan-style jackets belted with obi-style fabric worn short on their own or over long-legged pants formed the basis of the collection. Kaleidoscopic prints inspired by Futurist art that had an airbrushed or shaded feel combined grey, brown and ash with off shades of saffron, cinnamon, pink and cherry, mixed with signature raschel zig-zag knits and plenty of solid colour. There was less innovation than in the past but never the less a beautiful collection and a sense of colour that only Missoni can master.
