The new building for the Köln Diocese Museum, by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, weaves together the fragments of an old church partially demolished by World War II bombings, into a single new building, made of local light grey brick. Showcasing both historical ruins and religious artefacts in one wing and housing art galleries in the other, the museum is an ideal space for reflection.
