We’re suckers for a bit of Scandinavian functionalism and there’s no better place to satisfy our cravings than Skandium. From Marimekko fabrics to Artek furniture, Le Klint lighting to Jacob Jensen home appliances, Rosendahl glassware and Moomin memorabilia, Skandium offers a complete collection of the names and products that have become so synonymous with 20th and 21st century design from Sweden, Denmark and Finalnd.
Tying in with the design festival, the company is opening a new flagship store on Brompton Road, expanding upon their Scandinavian heritage to include international design classics in the modernist tradition adding names such as Knoll, Vitra and Cassina to the roster.
We’re looking forward to seeing a giant version of Kay Bojeson’s wooden monkey (one of only three produced) from the 1950’s, one of the new flagship’s star attractions.
