Francois Laffanour has been sourcing and collecting Twentieth century furniture for over 25 years, hosting a number of critically acclaimed exhibitions in the process.
Her exhibitions bring together elements in European design that she believes chart a history of innovation and quality craftsmanship. With a penchant for cross-disciplinary architects and product designers, Galerie Downtown has in the past shown monographic exhibitions on Le Corbusier, Charles and Ray Eames and Carlo Mollino.
For Design Miami, Galerie Downtown will be showing a selection of staple pieces from Laffanour’s permanent collection, including products by Charlotte Perriand, Serge Mouille, Jean Royere and George Nakashima.
