Casati Gallery, Chicago
In September 2003 Ugo Alfano Casati added his Italian accented
Casati Gallery to Chicagos meatpacking district, contributing to the edgy neighbourhoods growing roster of contemporary art and design venues.
Specialising in mid-20th century Italian Design, Casati Gallery illustrates the value of the most significant architects and designers of the Italian post-war period such as Angelo Mangiarotti, Andrea Branzi and Franco Albini.
Casati Gallery will be bringing a selection of Italian designs to the show, including Andrea Branzis Bar cabinet for LAPIS Italy; a unique sculptural design that utilises a composition of volumes that unfold to reveal a mirrored interior.
