R20th Century, New York
Mid-century modernism is the focal point of New York-based R20th Century, but as with so many of the design galleries participating in Design Miami, they're by no means limited to a roster of big names from this single period alone.
Zesty Myers and Evan Snyderman have been in partnership since 1997, committing themselves to promoting a scholarly approach to design, principally through unearthing work they believe is illustrative of innovation and fine craftsmanship of whichever period the designers were (and are, in some cases) working. The duo supplement their exhibitions with publications and maintain a comprehensive archive, library and private collection.
For Design Miami 2007, R 20th Century will be showing selected works by Poul Kjaerholm, Oscar Niemeyer and Joaquim Tenreiro.
