Dries Van Noten, Autumn/Winter '08 (scroll down to read the review)
Dries Van Noten
Wallpaper* loved the runway, made of strips of packing tape stuck directly onto the floor, in a herringbone pattern that when lit looked like over-varnished parquet.
The collection mixed up various items from a mans wardrobe including pyjamas, formalwear, evening wear, outerwear and sportswear (anything goes in 2008).
Madras checks, brush strokes and patchworks of vintage checked scarves made up the print/textile element that Van Noten is noted for. Bum flaps usually seen on punk bondage pants were cut in poplin and added to the hem of shirts and straps taken from military lifejackets dangled off the ends of waistcoats.
