Comme des Garcons Homme Plus
Shown in La Scala nightclub, the collection 'Time For Magic', featured both punk and rock references. Rei Kawakubo used the traditional, like houndstooth, chalk stripes, glen checks and tartan checks and covered them with patches, badges and placement prints.
The graphics were based on the work of British artist Jamie Reid, best known for his album art for the Sex Pistols. His slogans like 'God Save the Queen' and 'Never Mind the Bollocks' became 'Peace Is Tough', 'God Save our Jobs' and 'Lies, Lies, Lies Comme des Garcons Homme Plus'.
Jackets and pants were cut open and patched together with tartan inserts, the hems of wool and cotton chenille coats seemed to have been bitten off.
