Chloe, Spring/Summer '08 (scroll down to read the review)
Chloe
Print and pattern fit in two distinct camps this season, either a bloom fest of florals or a more arty affair made up of brush strokes. Designer Paulo Melim Anderson, in his second season for Chloe, showed plenty of the latter in a highly abstract way.
He cut seams through prints and reassembled them in a random way, an idea further explored through geometric patchwork of blocks of colour. There were lots of light airy dresses in pale gauzy silks, which gave this collection a much softer feel than his toughed up winter collection.
Melin Anderson still has a way to go to convince the die-hard Chloe fans about his new direction for the brand, but that will take time.
