Sonia Rykiel, Spring/Summer 08 (scroll down to read the review)
Sonia Rykiel
Intarsia knits had tromp loeil patterns, the outlines of pockets, belts, buttons, while seams sketched out a pair of dungarees on a jumpsuit and a waistcoat and tie on a dress. They may have had a tiny bit of Roberto di Camerino to them, but thats not such a bad thing.
Hot colour like saffron yellow is a bit of a Rykiel signature and her spotted poppy tulle and Kelly green silk velvets were particularly vivid.
For the finale, models came skipping and dancing down the runway in diaphanous chiffon dresses topped off with boas and scarves made of layers of torn chiffon in barely there pastel shades like vanilla, grapefruit and lemon. The entire audience left feeling upbeat and the models looked like they finally found some time to have some fun.
