Dressed in sharp but unstructured suits combined with signature stripes in hot colour, here was a modern Dandy. He was masculine but also showed his poetic side -something that is in the Sonia Rykiel brand DNA - with brooches and prints of giant pixelated roses, and plenty of shorts.
Striped knits, and in particular the cardigan, were cut a little longer and hung below jackets, and gave an injection of intense colour (violet, apple green and fuchsia) to an otherwise neutral base of molten grey, and faux white. Suiting came in laundered linen, Prince of Wales checks, cotton glacé, grey leather or summer wools. Sheer gauzy layering is a key trend this season and here gauzy knits smothered stripes, giving just a hint of the strong colour beneath.
