Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul Gaultier took a walk on the wild side with a ravishing mix of his signature slick tailoring and mountains of fur and rawhide. Picture a charcoal pencil skirt suit with a furry zebra print fur hide running from collar to hemline, or a full length matt alligator coat, tail included. There were great coats including silky nylon zebra print parkas and camel cashmere trenches with flaring sleeves. Evening saw fine lace sheaths over print silk slips and leggings, and chocolate silk satin in bias cut gowns. But the way he handled fur was for the super rich with chain mail inserted in stripes on hooded coats for an 'I'm so innocent' effect.
