According to designer Riccardo Tisci, Givenchy for fall goes Latino-Gothic, to him a celebration of the confidence, toughness, severity and elegance of women from Latin America (Venezuela, Costa Rica, Cuba and Brazil to be precise). Three-dimensional ruffles, pleats and frills adorned blouses, jackets and dresses (right on track for the season), as was the use of delicate lace. His silhouette of long legs and big volume on top was exaggerated by graphic colour, lots of black with some beige, and pastel shades of lilac and green, ' a new way to do dark'. Givenchy, who just announced the renewal of Tisci's contract, giving him also creative control of the menswear for the first time, also opened a new boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Designed by London-based architect Jamie Fobert, it reflects Tisci's new vision for the brand.
