Ralph Lauren strode down the plains of the Atlas Mountains and maybe dipped into Jaipur - whatever the Indiana Jones adventure, the collection was a handsome treat of vintagey utilitarian jackets and love-worn bush shirts, married with burnished linen suiting, canvas satchel bags and diaphanous dresses in crystal embellished lace or standouts in olive mesh, criss-crossed corseted at the back. Turbans were the headgear of choice and a low slung silk Jodhpur trouser was the new easy wear. When the economy gets tough utility luxe is the order of the day.
