Marc Jacobs, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Marc Jacobs
Bustled and tiered suffragette skirts, modest little jackets, obi belts and geisha tunics - might all sound a perverse mix but in the hands of Marc Jacobs it turned magical. His collection was a romantic foray into the diverse ethnicity of America with elements of black culture interwoven with sharp-shouldered tailored skirt suits made for the creative boardroom.
The evocative play of fabrics rich silks embroideries, gingham and metallic stripes was enticing, while ideas like thigh length tunics provided new wardrobe ideas. The eclectic image was topped by Stephen Jones charming squashed straw hats. A collection to fall in love with.
