Glaswegian Jonathan Saunders married military with romance in a collection full of charm and poise. The opening gambit was a turquoise silk officer’s jacket with gold buttons and collar, with a draped liquid chiffon skirt in pale peach. The fit and flirt silhouette continued in bodiced dresses in brocade featuring swirling majorette skirts over pencil sheaths in contrasting moody colours – black and red over fuchsia pink for instance. His trademark colour work came through in flashes of brights around necklines and armholes, while his way with graphics made for a bold body-contoured image that would make any officer proud.
