Jonathan Saunders, Spring/Summer '09 (scroll down to read the review)
Glaswegian Jonathan Saunders married military with romance in a collection full of charm and poise. The opening gambit was a turquoise silk officers jacket with gold buttons and collar, with a draped liquid chiffon skirt in pale peach. The fit and flirt silhouette continued in bodiced dresses in brocade featuring swirling majorette skirts over pencil sheaths in contrasting moody colours black and red over fuchsia pink for instance. His trademark colour work came through in flashes of brights around necklines and armholes, while his way with graphics made for a bold body-contoured image that would make any officer proud.
