Francisco Costa delivered a fine collection for fall, which was all about sculptured tailoring in the most pricey-looking cashmere and fine-textured molten wools. This is where to get that winter coat with a difference. Francisco cut his ones slim and neat at the waist but with padded pannier pockets for a note of stealth exaggeration. Pinning and tucking at the back means your departure will go as noticed as your arrival. The panier pocket was carried through to bustier dresses topped with inky blue, silk satin bodices and worn with sheepskin-trimmed bootie wedges. The palette of plum, petrol and grey was rich and intense and translated to evening wear in micro sequinned, panelled shift dresses and a line-up of concertina pleat, iridescent gowns, one off shoulder, another with contrasting shoulder straps to garner sophisticated attention on the décolleté. In his chinos and white shirt, the designer hosted a dinner that night at The Waverley Inn - a good, cosy choice considering the temperature is dropping - and there was enough fur checked-in to prove so.
