Calvin Klein, Autumn/Winter '08 (scroll down to read the review)
Calvin Klein
Creative Director Italo Zucchelli first developed the all-American athletic theme last season and it again made its way onto the Milan runway. Slim pants featured top-stitching that ran down the leg, tracing the contours of the muscles. A strong, defined proportion was achieved through novel padding on shoulders - a little like an American footballer’s kit. Zucchelli also engineered heat-sensitive thermochromic fabrics that created unique patterns in response to body heat - further outlining the body.

Any sight of a fastening was banished, with buttons and zips hidden away and shirts opened at the side rather than the front to keep things minimal and clean. There were plenty of great coats in double-faced cashmere, and mélange wool treated with a waterproof film or lightly wadded for extra warmth without bulk.
