Burberry Prorsum
Milan's endless rain gave Burberry a great opportunity to show off as an army of doormen outside the show ferried grateful guests from their cars into the venue, creating a sea of raincoats and checked umbrellas. Inside the show, guests were transported into an autumnal scene, with a runway strewn with fallen leaves and plenty of outerwear to keep wearers both warm and dry.

The silhouette, ever slim at Burberry, evolved a little this season to include wider cuffs and a-line coats. The belt, normally a firm fixture for Burberry, was dispensed with entirely, and instead, styling was more relaxed with coats and jackets left undone and shirttails exposed.

Inspired by the painter LS Lowry and fond of adornment, Bailey took brush strokes and applied them to pony skin for coats, fur for tiny collars and individually to turkey feathers that adorned knits.
