MaxMara, Spring/Summer 08 (scroll down to read the review)
MaxMara
There is a breed of Italian who in the spring is rarely seen without an extra layer folded and tied around their waist or torso, usually a cashmere sweater but often its their coat. MaxMara, whose history is in coats, took that idea and translated it into billowing sheer skirts in pale pink bubble cellophane, strapless dresses with the storm flaps framing the bust and even poplin wrap tops, arms, hems, pockets left in tact some deliberately in the wrong place, others fully functional. It was clever styling, but also ticked many of the boxes in terms of Milan trends.
