Gucci, Spring/Summer 08 (scroll down to read the review)
Gucci
Prints with a 50s modernist art feel in black and white with bolts of buttercup yellow and pink, wide stripes and Madras checks combined with patent leather, gave this Gucci collection a very graphic feel.
It was either super short, or in the case of the gowns at the end, very long. Skirts were full, often belted-in with wide belts, and there were giant bows and plenty of ruffles and gathers (which we have seen pop up elsewhere this week).
An alternative to all that frou was the cropped new pant, relaxed on the top, but still tight as can be below, combined with the tiny jacket that finished with a little puff just at the shoulder blade or a micro biker jacket.
High gloss patent in white, black and bubble gum pink gave things that Gucci gloss, specially for the soft oversized bags and clutches carried in the hand and the towering spike healed stilettos.
