Massimo Alba, Spring/Summer 08 (scroll down to read the review)
Knit maestro Massimo Alba, a youthful industry veteran who gave Malo its allure and helped kick Ballantyne back in to the land of the living, showed his second eponymous collection by appointment in his Milan showroom. The entire collection of knits, pants, shirts and jackets in cashmere, linen and cotton can be machine washed and require no ironing. It’s all effortless, easy yet still smart. These pieces require closer inspection; his skills in perfecting the ideal shape (slim, not tight, loose not baggy) so if you are fortunate enough to come across them (currently in Italy, US and Asia) try them on, you wont want to take them off. Each of his 60 easy pieces - t-shirts, shirts and sweaters - began with the yarn. All the fabrics, knitted and woven, have been specially made for him.
