Pringle of Scotland
Over at Pringle of Scotland, in a simple showroom presentation Clare Waight Keller had a mission, to show ââ¬Ëunforced fresh modernityââ¬â¢. The pieces were all easy - often that is the hardest thing of all to achieve and most men want nothing less.
Like the best of Milan, there was a studied lightness, in fabrics such as tropical wools and polished cool mohair mixes for clean tailoring, perforated suede for blousons, ultra-light glazed ramie in trench coats and mesh-like sweatshirt knits.
Keller managed to give the double layer, also seen at Bottega Veneta, her own twist. Here it was referred to as an ââ¬Ëunderpinning featureââ¬â¢ where lightweight shirts had two fronts (stripes beneath) and kagoules had a double opening, a tone lighter underneath. This gave a finished look with just the one piece.
This being Pringle there were great knits, from low buttoning cardigans with contrasting micro borders, to graphic stripes and ââ¬Ëengineeredââ¬â¢ banding that gave an optical illusion.
